Member of IACS.
CCS, the China Classification Society, is China’s national classification society and a full member of IACS, the International Association of Classification Societies. Founded in 1956 and headquartered in Beijing, it acts as a recognized organization for the China Maritime Safety Administration and for many flag states, issuing class and statutory certificates, surveying newbuildings and ships in service, and publishing its own Rules for Classification of Sea-Going Steel Ships. As an IACS member CCS applies the harmonized Common Structural Rules for bulk carriers and oil tankers and the IACS Unified Requirements, so its hull-steel grades and survey regime align with DNV, ABS, and Lloyd’s Register.
