IHO/IMO data-modeling under S-100.
The Common Maritime Data Structure (CMDS) is the single harmonized data framework underlying IMO e-navigation, built on the IHO S-100 Universal Hydrographic Data Model. The IMO e-navigation Strategy Implementation Plan (MSC.1/Circ.1595, 2018) identifies the CMDS as the structure ensuring that hydrographic, meteorological, hydrological, and other maritime information share a common geospatial standard. S-100 thus provides the registry and feature/portrayal catalogs so products like S-101 ENCs and S-102 bathymetry interoperate across systems.
