Continuous synopsis record

The CSR, an onboard record required by SOLAS Chapter XI-1 Regulation 5 that gives the ship’s history of flag, name, owner, bareboat charterer, ISM company, classification society, and registered port, with each change documented and the old entries retained. It travels with the ship and lets a Port State or charterer trace the vessel’s identity history at a glance, a measure introduced after concerns about ships changing identity to evade their record.
