Delivered at place unloaded
C3. Logistics, freight forwarding and multimodal tradeDefinition
DPU, Incoterm 2020.
DPU (Delivered at Place Unloaded) is the Incoterms 2020 rule that replaced DAT (Delivered at Terminal). It is the only Incoterm that requires the seller to unload the goods at the named destination. Risk passes once the goods are unloaded and placed at the buyer’s disposal. The rename to DPU in Incoterms 2020 widened the delivery point from a terminal to any agreed place, and reordered the rules so DPU now sits before DAP to reflect that unloading precedes onward placement.
