DG Manifest
C2. Ship operations, crewing and technical managementDefinition
Dangerous goods manifest under SOLAS Chapter VII.
The dangerous goods manifest is the special list or manifest of all dangerous goods carried in packaged form and their location on board, required by SOLAS Chapter VII Regulation 4. The information follows IMDG Code chapters 5.4 and 5.5: proper shipping name, UN number, class, packing group, quantity, and stowage position. A detailed stowage plan that shows class and location of all dangerous goods may replace the manifest. A copy is made available to the port State authority before or on arrival. An inaccurate or missing DG declaration and manifest is a frequent cause of misdeclared-cargo container fires and PSC detention.
