Ever Ace
B5. Ship Types and Individual VesselsDefinition
23,992 TEU ULCV.
Ever Ace is a 23,992 TEU ultra-large container vessel built by Samsung Heavy Industries and delivered in July 2021, the lead ship of Evergreen Marine’s twelve-unit A-class and the largest container ship in the world on delivery. She measures 400 m length overall, 61.5 m beam, and about 16 m maximum draft, with 24-row on-deck stowage. The A-class runs fixed Asia-to-North-Europe loops through the Suez Canal; at 61.5 m beam she is far too wide for the Neopanamax locks. Her capacity sits at the practical ceiling of current ULCV design, where draft and crane outreach at the major hub terminals, not hull engineering, set the limit on further growth.
