High-Risk Area Training
F3. Seafaring Life, Education, Professions and InstitutionsDefinition
BMP5 anti-piracy training requirement.
High-risk area training applies the Best Management Practices, currently BMP5, to voyages through piracy-prone waters: ship hardening, citadel drills, watch enhancement, and reporting to the naval coordination centers. The high-risk and voluntary reporting areas are defined by industry and naval bodies and listed by the Joint War Committee for insurance purposes, and entering them triggers the BMP measures and often additional war-risk premium.
