IMO International Maritime Law Institute in Malta, founded 1988.

The IMO International Maritime Law Institute, established in Malta in 1988, trains lawyers and government officials in international maritime law and the drafting of national legislation to implement IMO conventions. IMLI’s postgraduate programmes build the legal capacity that flag and coastal states need to give treaty obligations domestic effect, complementing the broader administration training at the World Maritime University. It operates under the auspices of the IMO.
