IMO Resolution A.1106(29)
E1. Maritime security, geopolitics and riskDefinition
Revised LRIT guidelines.
An IMO Assembly resolution adopted on 2 December 2015 setting the Revised Guidelines for the Onboard Operational Use of Shipborne Automatic Identification Systems (AIS). It superseded the earlier A.917(22) guidance and covers correct AIS operation, the static, dynamic, and voyage-related data to enter, when to switch off for security reasons, and how AIS supports collision avoidance and VTS reporting. Note: it concerns AIS, not LRIT; LRIT is governed separately under SOLAS Reg.V/19-1.
