Mandatory under SOLAS II-1, Part B.
The 2008 Intact Stability Code consolidates the criteria a ship must meet to resist capsize in undamaged condition. Its Part A criteria became mandatory under SOLAS II-1 and the Load Lines Protocol from 1 July 2010 and cover minimum metacentric height, the area under the righting-arm curve, and weather criteria. Part B carries recommended provisions for specific ship types.
