Global federation of marine pilots.
The International Maritime Pilots’ Association, founded in 1971 and based in London, is the global federation of national marine pilot organizations. IMPA holds consultative status at the IMO, where it leads work on pilot transfer arrangements, pilot ladder safety under SOLAS Regulation V/23, and the training recommendations of Resolution A.960. It runs the annual pilot-ladder safety campaign that audits boarding-arrangement compliance worldwide.
