International Code of Safety for Ships Carrying Industrial Personnel, mandatory under SOLAS XV.
The International Code of Safety for Ships Carrying Industrial Personnel became mandatory through new SOLAS Chapter XV on 1 July 2024. It sets safety standards for ships carrying more than 12 industrial personnel, such as technicians servicing offshore wind farms and energy installations, addressing personnel transfer, accommodation, and stability for a population that is neither crew nor passengers.
