Lloyd's market body listing high-risk areas.
The Joint War Committee (JWC) is a London marine-insurance market body comprising underwriting representatives from the Lloyd’s market and the International Underwriting Association (IUA) company market. It issues the JWC Listed Areas (formally the Hull War, Strikes, Terrorism and Related Perils Listed Areas), the schedule of waters and ports the committee designates as elevated war and related risk. A vessel entering a listed area must usually notify hull war-risk underwriters and pay an additional premium for the transit. The list is reviewed periodically with security advisers and shifts with conflict and piracy activity.
