Lloyd's List Intelligence

A7. Compliance, certification and enforcement

Definition

Maritime intelligence service used for compliance screening.

Lloyd’s List Intelligence is a maritime data and analytics service that compiles vessel, ownership, movement, and risk information used in compliance screening. Compliance and chartering teams use it to check a ship and its beneficial owners against sanctions lists, to detect AIS gaps and dark activity, and to review casualty, detention, and inspection history before fixing a vessel. The service supports due diligence required under BIMCO sanctions clauses and bank and insurer compliance policies. It is a commercial intelligence provider, not a regulator; the underlying obligations come from UN, EU, UK, and US sanctions law and from contract.
