E3. Technology, digitalization and smart shipping

Definition

Cyber gap-analysis service.

The Lloyd’s Register Digital Health Check is an advisory cyber gap-analysis service in which LR assessors review a vessel or fleet’s IT and OT systems, policies, and crew practices against a recognized framework, then report findings and remediation priorities. It is a non-statutory consultancy step, distinct from LR’s class cyber notations, and helps owners evidence the cyber-risk management that IMO Resolution MSC.428(98) requires inside the ISM safety management system. It maps observed controls to the identify-protect-detect-respond-recover functions.
