LNG bunkering manifold
B2. Marine EngineeringDefinition
ISO-standard transfer connection for LNG.
The LNG bunkering manifold is the standardized connection point where a gas-fueled ship receives LNG from a bunker vessel, truck, or shore terminal. Geometry and safety functions follow ISO 20519, which sets the manifold layout, the dry-disconnect or dry-break coupling, the emergency shutdown (ESD) link, and the inerting and purging arrangements that keep air out of the cryogenic line. Insulated cryogenic hoses or arms handle liquid near minus 162 degrees Celsius, with a vapor return line balancing tank pressure. Spill trays and water curtains protect the steel hull from cryogenic embrittlement during transfer.
