Logistics Visibility Platform
E3. Technology, digitalization and smart shippingDefinition
Multi-modal supply-chain dashboarding.
A logistics visibility platform aggregates carrier, terminal, and tracking data across modes to show shippers and forwarders where a consignment is and when it will arrive, with predictive ETAs. In ocean freight these platforms consume DCSA Track and Trace events and carrier APIs (project44, FourKites, Wakeo, and similar) and reconcile them with vessel AIS positions. The category is software, not a standard; its data quality depends on the underlying carrier API and event feeds. It overlaps a port community system but spans the full door-to-door chain.
