LR Yacht Notation

E4. Cruise, offshore energy and auxiliary/specialised fleets

Definition

Lloyd's Register large-yacht class notations.

Lloyd’s Register class notations for large yachts, applied through LR’s Rules and Regulations for the Classification of Special Service Craft and its yacht supplements; a typical hull notation reads 100A1 SSC Yacht Mono G6 with machinery notation LMC. The SSC code groups type (yacht), service area, and a speed-and-displacement group number. Notations cover structure, machinery, and optional descriptive notes; they sit alongside, not in place of, the flag-state REG Yacht Code that governs large commercial and passenger yachts.
