LRIT Conformance Test Report (CTR)

E1. Maritime security, geopolitics and risk

Definition

Document confirming shipboard equipment conformance.

A document confirming that a ship’s LRIT shipborne equipment has passed a conformance test and correctly transmits position reports to its LRIT Data Centre. Required under SOLAS Regulation V/19-1, the test is carried out by an Application Service Provider recognized by the flag administration; the resulting CTR (a Conformance Test Report) must be kept aboard and is checked during port-state control. Without a valid CTR the ship is not deemed compliant with LRIT carriage obligations.
