Required under MLC for ships of 500 GT and above engaged on international voyages.

The Maritime Labour Certificate, with its attached Declaration of Maritime Labour Compliance, attests that a ship’s working and living conditions meet the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006. It is required on ships of 500 GT and above engaged on international voyages or operating between foreign ports, is valid for up to five years, and is subject to intermediate inspection. Port states verify it under MLC port-state control.
