Mega-Yacht
E4. Cruise, offshore energy and auxiliary/specialised fleetsDefinition
Yacht typically over 80 m.
A large private or charter yacht, the term applied loosely above roughly 60 to 80 meters, overlapping with superyacht usage; there is no single statutory length cutoff. Commercially operated examples above 24 meters in load-line length fall under the REG Yacht Code Part A (the former Large Yacht Code, LY3), and any carrying more than 12 passengers move to Part B, the Passenger Yacht Code (PYC, 12 to 36 passengers). Class is usually held with Lloyd’s Register, DNV, or RINA under their special-service-craft yacht rules.
