Nacra 17
F4. Recreational Boating, Yachting and SportDefinition
Foiling mixed catamaran, Olympic class from 2016.
The Nacra 17 is the foiling mixed multihull of the Olympic Games, introduced for 2016 and converted to full foiling for 2020, sailed by one man and one woman on a 5.25-meter catamaran. Curved daggerboards and rudder elevators lift both hulls clear of the water, so the crew flies the boat on foils while balancing it on a trapeze. It is the only mixed-gender Olympic sailing event and among the most physically demanding classes in the program.
