Oslo Maritime Cluster

The Norwegian maritime concentration around Oslo, strong in shipowning, maritime finance, classification, and marine insurance. Oslo hosts DNV (the classification society headquartered at Hovik), the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association, the Nordic marine-insurance market built on the Nordic Marine Insurance Plan, and ship-finance banks. The Oslo Bors lists shipping equities, and the cluster spans offshore, deep-sea, and green-shipping technology. Norway’s maritime strength concentrates owning, finance, class, and innovation in and around the capital.
