RightShip
A7. Compliance, certification and enforcementDefinition
Vetting and risk-management platform for dry bulk and other sectors.
RightShip is a maritime risk and vetting platform used mainly in dry bulk and other non-tanker sectors, where it serves a function comparable to OCIMF SIRE for tankers. Charterers, miners, and cargo owners use RightShip’s online assessment to screen vessels for safety, environmental, and operational risk before fixing. The platform combines inspection data, casualty and detention history, and a GHG rating derived from a vessel’s design efficiency. A poor RightShip rating can keep a ship out of charters with major cargo interests. RightShip is a commercial vetting service, not a regulator; its standards influence the market rather than carrying legal force.
