Royal Ocean Racing Club, founded 1925.

The Royal Ocean Racing Club, founded in 1925 out of the first Fastnet Race, is the leading authority for offshore racing in Britain and a co-owner of the IRC rating rule with France’s UNCL. It organizes the Fastnet, the Caribbean 600, and a season-long offshore series, and its rating office issues IRC certificates worldwide. The club’s foundation marked the start of organized amateur ocean racing as a sport rather than a wager between owners.
