Definition

SEEMP Parts I, II, and III.

The Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) is the mandatory operational plan under MARPOL Annex VI Regulation 26 that documents how a ship manages and improves its energy efficiency. SEEMP Part I, ship-specific energy-efficiency measures, applies to all ships of 400 GT and above. SEEMP Part II, the data collection plan for fuel oil consumption reporting (IMO DCS), applies to ships of 5,000 GT and above. SEEMP Part III, mandatory since 1 January 2023 for ships of 5,000 GT and above, sets the plan to meet the required annual Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) rating and must be verified. A ship without a compliant, verified SEEMP cannot get its Statement of Compliance.
