Industry-funded promotional and educational body.
A private-sector-led body established 27 January 2004 to promote Singapore as an International Maritime Centre and develop the maritime talent pipeline. The SMF runs scholarship and outreach programs, the Singapore Maritime Forum, and industry research, working alongside the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (the statutory regulator). It represents shipowning, ship management, broking, bunkering, and ancillary-service members, complementing the public-sector MPA in building the Singapore cluster.
