STCW-F 1995

The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Fishing Vessel Personnel, 1995, sets minimum qualification standards for crews of seagoing fishing vessels, which fall outside the merchant-ship STCW. In force from 29 September 2012, it addresses the high casualty rate in fishing by requiring certification for skippers, officers, and engineers on larger vessels.
