TMSA

Tanker Management and Self-Assessment is the OCIMF tool by which a tanker operator measures its own management systems against best-practice key performance indicators, across thirteen elements from leadership to environmental management. The current edition is TMSA 3 (2017). It is not an inspection: the operator self-assesses to stage levels and uses the gaps to drive improvement, and oil-major charterers review the TMSA submission alongside the SIRE inspection report when vetting both the vessel and the company behind it.
