Turkish Maritime Cluster

The Turkish maritime concentration centered on Istanbul and the Marmara region, spanning shipowning, ship management, shipbuilding at the Tuzla and Yalova yards, ship recycling at Aliaga, and brokering across the Turkish Straits trade. It is served by the Turkish Maritime Administration, the Turkish International Ship Registry, and Turk Loydu (the national classification society). Turkey runs a large coaster and dry-bulk fleet and a major ship-recycling sector represented by the recyclers’ association GEMISANDER.
