MARPOL Annex III - Marine Pollutant Designation Lookup
Determine marine pollutant status (P or PP) for an IMDG-listed substance and the required marking and segregation.
Formula, assumptions, limits
IMDG Code Chapter 2.10 marine pollutant criteria aligned with GESAMP/EHS Database hazard profile and the GHS aquatic hazard categorisation. P (marine pollutant) for substances meeting the criteria; PP (severe marine pollutant) for substances with particularly severe environmental hazard. Marking required on packages above 5 kg/L and on all containers and tank containers. The marking is the marine pollutant symbol (fish and tree silhouette in triangle) plus the IMDG class label.
