Bagging plan

A bagging plan is the operational scheme for converting a bulk parcel into bagged units at the discharge port or terminal, used mostly for grain, fertilizer, sugar, cement, and rice destined for inland distribution. It sets the bag size and weight (commonly 25 kg or 50 kg), the daily bagging rate, the number of bagging machines and labor gangs, sweepings and spillage handling, and the warehouse stacking pattern. The plan ties to the discharge sequence and laytime, because slow bagging caps the effective discharge rate and exposes the receiver to demurrage. Bagged outturn is reconciled against the bill of lading net weight by tally and draft survey.
