BARECON 2017

BIMCO’s standard bareboat (demise) charter party, the 2017 edition. It governs the charter of a ship without crew or owner-supplied services: the charterer takes possession, mans and maintains the vessel, insures it, and pays a daily hire. The form carries optional parts for newbuilding bareboats and for finance leases, including hire-purchase and a purchase option, which is why it sits at the center of many ship-finance and sale-and-leaseback structures.
