Conlinebill

A5. Maritime Law, private and commercial

Definition

BIMCO standard liner bill of lading form.

Conlinebill is BIMCO’s standard liner bill of lading, designed for general cargo carried on berth terms in the liner trades. The current edition, Conlinebill 2016, incorporates the Hague or Hague-Visby Rules through a clause paramount and ships them with the matching Conlinebooking 2016 booking note. The form allocates loading and discharge costs on liner terms (the carrier arranging and paying cargo handling within the freight), names the carrier through an identity-of-carrier and demise clause, and carries a New Jason clause and both-to-blame collision clause. It is a received-for-shipment or shipped bill and functions as a document of title, receipt, and evidence of the contract of carriage.
