EER (Escape, Evacuation, Rescue) Vessel

EER stands for Escape, Evacuation and Rescue, the three-stage offshore emergency framework: escape from the hazard to a temporary refuge, evacuation off the installation by lifeboat or other means, and rescue of personnel from the sea. An EER vessel is the standby or emergency-response and rescue vessel (ERRV) stationed near a fixed or floating installation to recover people from the water and provide on-scene coordination. UK guidance under the Offshore Installations (Prevention of Fire and Explosion, and Emergency Response) Regulations 1995 sets the EER duty.
