Fuel oil booster module

A fuel-oil booster module is a pressurized skid that raises heavy fuel oil from the service tank to the temperature, pressure, and viscosity the engine needs at the injection pumps. It holds the supply and booster (circulating) pumps, a steam or electric final heater, an automatic viscosity controller with an inline viscometer, a mixing tank or de-aeration column, and a duplex filter, circulating hot fuel in a closed loop so the engine draws only what it burns. The booster pumps keep the fuel pressurized above its boiling point so heated HFO at 130 to 150 degrees C does not flash.
