General order warehouse

A general order (GO) warehouse is a US customs-bonded facility where imported goods are placed when they are not entered, examined, or released within the time allowed after arrival, typically 15 calendar days. Goods go to general order if no entry is filed, duties are unpaid, or the entry is incomplete, and the importer must then file a delivery and pay accrued storage and handling before release. Merchandise left unclaimed in GO for six months may be sold at public auction or, for certain goods, destroyed. The regime is governed by 19 CFR Part 127 and is administered by CBP-approved bonded warehouse operators.
