Green Water Navy
E2. Naval, defence and maritime law enforcementDefinition
Force operating in littorals and adjacent seas.
A navy that operates in the littorals and adjacent seas: coastal waters, the continental shelf, and semi-enclosed seas out to roughly the edge of regional waters, without sustained blue-water (open-ocean) reach. Green-water forces handle area defense, escort, and regional power within home waters using corvettes, frigates, and offshore patrol vessels rather than carriers and afloat logistics. The term sits between brown-water (riverine and coastal) and blue-water (global ocean) in the standard naval-reach taxonomy.
