Hull/propeller performance default method.

ISO 19030-2 is the default method in the ISO 19030 series for measuring changes in hull and propeller performance over time, published in 2016. It specifies the minimum set of onboard sensor signals and the minimum signal quality needed to compute performance indicators, then compares a ship’s speed-for-power against its own reference period to quantify added resistance from biofouling and coating breakdown. Part 1 gives the general principles, Part 2 the exacting default method, and Part 3 alternative methods with relaxed data requirements. Operators use the speed-loss indicators to time hull cleaning and coating renewal and to assess coating performance, feeding the same data that supports CII monitoring.
