K-Class (Various Navies)

K-class is not a single design but a label reused by several navies, where the letter K can be either a class name or a pennant-flag superior. The Royal Navy used K as the pennant flag superior for sloops and frigates, so wartime escorts carried K-prefixed pennant numbers. Separate K-class designs include the Royal Navy K-class steam submarines of World War I (notorious for accidents), the K-class destroyers of 1939, and the Indian Navy Khukri class (Project 25). The label therefore depends entirely on the navy and era.
