Nautical Cybersecurity Framework (NIST-Maritime)

A maritime cyber-security framework profile adapts the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, with its five functions identify, protect, detect, respond, recover, to shipping’s combined IT and OT estate. The mapping is endorsed by IMO MSC-FAL.1/Circ.3 and the multi-association Guidelines on Cyber Security Onboard Ships, which use the same five functions to structure shipboard controls. The term ‘Nautical Cybersecurity Framework’ is descriptive rather than a single published standard; it denotes a NIST CSF profile tailored to vessels.
