Coating inspector certification.

A NACE Level III coating inspector, now AMPP (the merged NACE and SSPC body) Certified Coating Inspector Level 3, is the senior grade in the marine and industrial coating-inspection certification scheme. The inspector verifies surface preparation against ISO 8501-1 grades (Sa 2.5, Sa 3), measures surface profile, soluble salts, ambient conditions (dew point and relative humidity), wet and dry film thickness, and holiday (pinhole) detection, and signs off the PSPC coating technical file in ballast-tank work. Level 3 adds supervisory and specification authority over Levels 1 and 2. The European equivalent is the FROSIO coating inspector certification, recognized for the same offshore and newbuilding scope.
