Quebec Flag

Letter Q of the International Code of Signals, a plain yellow flag, means “My vessel is healthy and I request free pratique.” An arriving ship hoists it singly to declare no quarantinable disease aboard and to ask port health authorities to clear the vessel for entry. Once pratique is granted the flag comes down. The all-yellow Q is one of the most recognized signal flags because of its routine use at every foreign port arrival.
