SHIPMAN 2024

SHIPMAN 2024 is BIMCO’s standard ship management agreement, published 18 April 2024 to replace SHIPMAN 2009 after a two-year review. It governs the relationship between a shipowner and a third-party manager handling crewing, technical management, commercial management, insurance, and accounting. The 2024 revision adds clauses on emission trading schemes, sanctions, cyber security, and anti-corruption, and sets the predelivery fee at one twelfth of the annual management fee where the parties leave Box 15 blank. Management fees are payable without set-off or tax withholding, and a new change of control clause requires 15 days’ notice of a 50 percent ownership change.
