SIRENAC

SIReNaC was the central inspection database of the Paris Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control, the system that recorded and shared port-state inspection results among the member maritime authorities so a ship’s history followed it from port to port. Inspectors logged deficiencies and detentions into SIReNaC, which flagged ships due or overdue for inspection and supported the targeting that decided which ships to board. The Paris MoU replaced it on 1 January 2011 with THETIS, hosted by the European Maritime Safety Agency, which drives the New Inspection Regime and its ship risk profiles. SIReNaC is the historical predecessor a mariner meets in older port-state control references.
