Well-stimulation vessel

A well-stimulation vessel is an offshore unit that pumps fluids into subsea or platform wells to restore or raise production, carrying out acidizing, scale squeezes, and light intervention from the deck rather than from a rig. The fit-out centers on high-pressure pumping spreads, chemical and acid storage tanks, mixing and blending units, and a coiled-tubing or wireline package connected to the well through a subsea tree or a riser. Dynamic positioning to class DP2 holds the vessel over the well during the pumping job. The type overlaps the well-intervention vessel and the offshore construction vessel, and many units combine stimulation, intervention, and light subsea work on one hull.
