Zeebrugge Maritime Cluster

F3. Seafaring Life, Education, Professions and Institutions

Definition

Belgian coastal maritime community.

The maritime concentration at Zeebrugge, the coastal port of Bruges, Belgium, now merged administratively with Antwerp as the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. It handles roll-on/roll-off car traffic, LNG import and bunkering at the Fluxys terminal, container and reefer cargo, and offshore-wind installation logistics for the Belgian North Sea zone. Zeebrugge groups port operators, terminal operators, and ferry and short-sea services; its LNG terminal is a major European regasification and bunkering point.
