ABC Anglo Belgian Corporation

X67. Marine Electrical Systems and Shore Power

Definition

Belgian builder of medium-speed marine diesel engines in the 600 to 10,800 kW range, including the DZC and DL36 series.

Anglo Belgian Corporation, founded at Ghent in 1912, builds medium-speed four-stroke diesel and dual-fuel engines for inland vessels, tugs, fishing craft, and gensets. Its DZC, DL36, and the newer 8DZD and BeHydro hydrogen-capable ranges span roughly 600 to 10,800 kW. ABC engines hold IACS member-society type approvals and meet IMO NOx Tier II and, with after-treatment, Tier III limits under MARPOL Annex VI. The firm is one of few independent European builders competing with the larger MAN and Wartsila portfolios in the workboat segment.
