Advance Notice of Arrival (ANOA)
E1. Maritime security, geopolitics and riskDefinition
USCG-required pre-arrival report (96-hour rule) for vessels entering US ports.
A pre-arrival report that a vessel must file with the US Coast Guard before entering a US port, covering vessel particulars, crew and passenger lists, cargo, and the last ports of call. Under 33 CFR Part 160, the standard window is 96 hours before arrival for most vessels (24 hours for voyages under 96 hours), submitted to the National Vessel Movement Center. The data feeds security vetting and risk screening; failure to file or a materially false notice can lead to denial of entry.
