Americanised Welsh Coal Charter 1993, dry bulk voyage charter form.
Amwelsh 93 is the Americanized Welsh Coal Charter 1993, a voyage charter party for dry bulk coal exports, mainly out of US ports. It descends from the Welsh Coal Charter first issued for South Wales steam coal and was adapted for American loading terms. The form sets a freight rate per ton, names load and discharge ports, and fixes laytime and demurrage on the loading and discharging operation. Brokers still fix coal cargoes on Amwelsh, often heavily amended with rider clauses covering FIO terms, draft, and despatch. It sits alongside GENCON as a recognized dry bulk voyage form.
